BEAR Bags

A BEAR Bag is filled with items intended to provide care and comfort to children that are in the custody of (CPS) Child Protective Services. BEAR Bags are typically compiled in BEAR Rooms by Caseworkers and/or Case Aides, or volunteers and/or BEAR staff, and are then given directly to kiddos in CPS all over the greater Houston area. With the help of community partners, we have been providing the essential resources that fill these bags since 1997.

Please browse our supply lists below to see the items needed to construct a NEW BEAR Bag and remember: ALL donated items must be brand new with tags. All items in the bag should be for the same age/size/gender of the child indicated on the tag (each tag is available for download and print).

IMPORTANT NOTE: If you choose to create BEAR Bags, please make sure that this Virtual Volunteer Form is completed and attached to your donation when it is dropped off at BEAR HQ. You may also complete the form and send it via email to Volunteer Coordinator, Alexis Evans at Alexis.Evans@harriscountytx.gov
