Welcome to BEAR! Read below to learn more about our four programs and the available resources.

BEAR Necessities provides new clothing, shoes, diapers, car seats, air mattresses, and more to meet the needs of children. We want to provide comfort and normalcy for children during uncertain times. This program is available year-round to meet the needs of the children on your caseload.
BEARing Gifts is our holiday program that provides brand-new gifts to children who may otherwise not experience the joy of the holiday season. Available during November/December. Registration is required starting in October.
BEAR Back-to-School helps ensure that children who might otherwise go without have the confidence, normalcy, and school supplies/backpacks they need to start the school year off right. Available during July/August. Registration is required starting in June.
Heart Gallery of Greater Houston is a powerful, traveling photographic exhibit created to ignite awareness and help find forever families for children in foster care.

Why submit your child to be featured in Heart Gallery?

In addition to promoting a child on TARE, Heart Gallery of Greater Houston wants to assist in providing more exposure so that a child that is available for adoption is seen in a variety of exhibits throughout Region 6! Our professional photographers work to capture fun photos of each child that can be used to entice the community to take a deeper look into adoption. Once the photos are approved, these can be used on TARE, our heart gallery website, as well as printed on canvas, and our social media!

Here we will have current events, program announcements, as well as inventory alerts. Please make sure to log in at least once a week so as not to miss new information.

Remember, you may use our BEAR Room to check out items for an ACTIVE CPS Case. It is MANDATORY to COMPLETELY FILL OUT THE DIGITAL FORM before removing items from the room.

The BEAR Room and Warehouse are open Monday – Friday, 9 AM – 3 PM.
*To access after regular business hours and on weekends, please visit the Youth Service Center located at Chimney Rock.

BEAR Rules

BEAR ROOM: Form and Rules

We are located at 3572 E TC Jester Blvd. Houston, TX 77018

The BEAR Room form is now digital! Please scan the QR code once inside the BEAR Room for easy online ordering and immediate pick-up!

Parents and/or Guardians are NOT ALLOWED in the BEAR Rooms.
Within the BEAR Room, there is a standard limit of 2 each for most items. There is signage within the BEAR Room that indicates exceptions to particular items.
Items in the BEAR Room are available ONLY to ACTIVE CPS cases.
Case information is REQUIRED before items are removed from the BEAR Room.
Every child that receives resources from the BEAR Room MUST be accounted for via our digital form. This form also includes a signature to verify that the resources being removed from the BEAR Room are going directly to the children on the case and no one else.

BEAR WAREHOUSE: Form and Rules

Car seats, pack & plays, etc. may be ordered and picked up at BEAR’s Warehouse.
Monday – Friday, 9 am – 3 pm.

Parents and/or Guardians are NOT ALLOWED at the BEAR Warehouse.
Items in the BEAR Warehouse are available ONLY to ACTIVE CPS cases.
Case information is REQUIRED before items are removed from the BEAR Warehouse.
Items must be delivered to the client and not stored in CPS offices.
Every child that receives resources from the BEAR Warehouse MUST be accounted for via our digital form. This form also includes a signature to verify that the resources being removed from the BEAR Warehouse go directly to the children on the case and no one else.
